Homage

Anniversaries inspire reflection.  As we come up on a year since Chocolate Fusion’s inception, we want to pay homage to ‘Mrs. Annis’.  Jane Annis was 86 years old when she passed away in 2022.  Professionally, she was a very well-regarded interior designer and watercolorist.  Personally, she was a wife, mother, and grandmother – as well as a neighbor and close friend of Paige’s family while they all lived in Mountainside, New Jersey.  One of Jane’s many creative outlets was making toffee for her friends every year at Christmastime; it qualified as a tradition for Paige.  When Paige moved to Vermont 30 years ago, she asked Jane for her (apparently closely guarded) toffee recipe and began honoring the same holiday giving tradition in her new hometown of Woodstock.  To this day, Paige still works off of the piece of paper that Jane gave her with her hand-written toffee recipe on it.  And while, yes, Paige has tinkered a bit with it over the years to make it uniquely hers, we owe Jane a huge debt of gratitude – her generosity all those years ago has afforded us the opportunity to turn her recipe into our Signature Almond Toffee and to share it with all of you.  Thank you, ‘Mrs. Annis’.
